Shares Spread Definition
The difference between the bid price and the asked (offering) price. For example, when a stock is quoted "50 bid, offered at 52," a two-point spread is said to exist.
(2) The simultaneous purchase and sale of separate futures or options contracts for the same commodity for delivery in different months. Also known as a straddle.
