Small Business Website Tips

To build a website that is search engine optimized you need to take the following steps:

1. Decide on the purpose of the website and what general topics or specialties your specific site will focus on. Develop a logo.

2. Use the Google Adwords tool to see what the best keyword choices for your website will be. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

3. Buy a domain and cheap hosting package from GoDaddy.com. Use hyphens in your domain name between the keywords. For example Richard-Wilson-Blog.com would be the perfect domain name to purchase for this blog if I wanted it to show up on Google when users search for "Richard Wilson Blog"

4. Create a basic website and follow the SEO Checklist instructions that I have listed in another post on this blog.

5. Wait a month after your site goes live and is linked to a few other websites for Google to find it and start including it in search results.
