Resource #1: (11.17.08) London-based alternative investment manager Bramdean Asset Management is taking film financing to another level. Instead of launching a fund to invest in films, the firm is focusing on a music-for-film investment fund dubbed Resonant Music I.

Bramdean, which is led by “Superwoman” Nicola Horlick, in association with Cutting Edge Music Holdings, which provides music to the film industry, will acquire the publishing rights to original scores featured in independently-produced feature films and television series.

Cutting Edge will look for opportunities within the global film and television industries. It intends to provide finance for the music of around 200 movie and TV projects, predominantly in the U.K. and the U.S., over the next four years, and is currently completing its first investments. By investing only in the music elements of a production rather than the production itself, the fund expects to avoid the volatility associated with traditional film finance. Source
