Beginning Market Value

For portfolios, the sum of the market value and accruals across all assets at the beginning of a measurement period. For assets, the beginning market value does not include accruals, and is simply the market value at the beginning of the period. The beginning market value for each period is the same as the ending market value for the previous period.
