Hedge Fund Regulations in France

Similar to just about every other part of the world, France is looking to increase the regulation and registration requirements for hedge fund managers. Here is a FT article excerpt on this:
France pressed its European Union partners on Tuesday to impose strict rules on hedge funds, in spite of Swedish warnings that even the tightest regulation would be no guarantee against a repeat of the current financial turmoil.
Christine Lagarde, France’s finance minister, said EU governments should insist on much tougher rules for hedge funds and other investment vehicles than those proposed last week by the European Commission. source
