Resource #1: (12.5.08) Tai Tam Capital, founded by former WestLB AG bankers, plans to start an Asia-focused hedge fund in the first quarter next year to take advantage of falling prices that led to the industry’s biggest annual decline on record.
The Hong Kong-based alternative asset management firm aims to raise $100 million initially for a hedge fund that will use a so-called global macro strategy that seeks to profit from broad economic trends by trading stocks, bonds, currencies and commodities, said Wen Shiau, founding partner and chief operating officer of the firm. source
