REIT Real Estate Investment Trust Companies Fund

Real Estate Investment Trust. A trust, somewhat like a mutual fund, that invests in real estate loans (mortgages and trust deeds) and/or has equity interests in real estate. To qualify for tax exemption, 90% of a REIT's income must be paid out to shareholders.
