Passive Management Strategy Definition
(1) A type of investment management that seeks to attain average risk-adjusted performance.
(2) An investment management approach that seeks to eliminate active decision-making from the investment process. The most widely used passive technique is index-matching, in which a portfolio is managed to replicate the performance of some market index.
