A Stockholder | Definition
The owner of one or more shares of corporate stock who is entitled to: (a) a proportionate share of the issuing company's undivided assets, (b) dividends when declared by the directors, (c) the right of proportionate voting power, and frequently, (d) the opportunity to subscribe to additional stock before public offerings are made.A stockholder of record is a stockholder whose name is registered on the books of the issuing corporation.
