First Boston Convertible Securities Index

PoThis is a performance benchmark for convertible accounts. This index generally includes 250 to 300 issues. To be included, convertible bonds and preferreds must be rated B- or better by Standard & Poor’s (quality-related adjustments are made at the end of each calendar year), convertibles must have a minimum issue size of $50 million (new issues are added in the month following their issuance), and preferreds must have a minimum of 500,000 shares outstanding. Eurobonds are also included if they are issued by US-domiciled companies, rated B- or higher by Standard & Poor’s, and have an issue size greater than $100 million.st
