Accrued Interest
Accrued Interest | Definition
(1) Interest incurred during a fiscal period but not paid by the end of that fiscal period. Distinct from accumulated interest, which is the total of unpaid periodic interest payments that are past due.
(2) Interest accrued on a bond since the last interest payment was made. The buyer of the bond pays the market price plus accrued interest to the seller, unless the bond is in default.
